Project Brief

A cluster of four villas designed for one family on Pearl Jumeirah forms a cohesive architectural composition, balancing independence and connection.

The parent’s villa anchors the ensemble with a larger scale and formal majlis, while the remaining villas provide private family domains within a unified design language.

The villas function as a connected residential system, where carved masses form semi-private outdoor spaces that shape a continuous family domain. Central glass atriums organize circulation within each home while aligning visually across the cluster, allowing uninterrupted views and fostering a sense of openness. This approach balances independence and connection, so each villa maintains privacy while remaining part of a shared, cohesive architectural composition.

Four adjacent family-owned plots are combined, establishing the foundation for a shared residential composition.

Individual masses are extruded for each villa, with the parent’s villa expressed at a larger scale.

A central cut is introduced within each mass, creating a void that begins to establish visual and spatial continuity.

The cut creates visual continuity across the villas, reinforcing connection from end to end.

The central void develops into glazed atriums defining lobbies and circulation, enhancing connectivity while preserving each villa’s privacy.

The masses are sculpted to form semi-private courtyards, creating continuous shared outdoor family spaces.

Private backyard spaces created for the sons’ villas, supporting private social gatherings.

Roof-level outdoor spaces are linked by three key connections, creating continuity across the terraces.

Bridges combine the roof terraces, forming a unified shared outdoor space at roof level.

Shared spaces span basement, ground, and roof levels, creating a layered system that balances family life with individual privacy.

"The project is shaped around the spaces between the villas. These shared zones form the heart of the design, uniting the architecture and creating a setting for collective family life."
